β—‰ What is Active LED?

The Traditional LCD/LED TV

The "LED" part refers only to the white backlight shining through the LCD pixels. Limited by standard sizes.

Active LED (Direct View)

Every single pixel is a physical, light-emitting diode. No backlight. Modular cabinets allow infinite scaling.

🧱 How It's Built

An Active LED screen is a modular system. It scales infinitely by snapping these building blocks together.

1. The Diode (Pixel)

The smallest light-emitting component. Either SMD (plastic cup) or COB (raw chip).

2. The Module

A small circuit board (e.g., 250x250mm) containing hundreds of pixels and driver ICs.

3. The Cabinet

The physical chassis (usually die-cast aluminum) holding 4-8 modules, a power supply, and a receiving card.

4. The LED Wall

Dozens or hundreds of cabinets bolted together to create a seamless, massive display.

🧊 Interactive Cabinet Explorer

Move your mouse to rotate the 3D model. Notice how the LED modules (front) mount to the chassis holding the power supply and control card (back).

β–¦ Packaging Technologies

β–£

SMD (Surface Mount Device)

The industry standard for years. A red, green, and blue diode are encased in a tiny plastic cup and soldered onto the PCB.

Pros: Highly mature, cost-effective, easy to repair, excellent color uniformity.
Cons: Vulnerable to physical damage, lower contrast ratios due to the epoxy surface.
